One website for a photographer's portfolio, shop and writing.
Caroline Dooley is a photographer and writer whose work spans visual storytelling, travel, personal reflections and collectible pieces.
She came to us with a clear feeling for what she wanted the website to become, but the brand, structure and digital direction were still open. The project needed to bring portfolio, writing and commerce together in a way that felt personal and refined rather than like three separate websites.
The challenge
The main challenge was turning an intuitive creative vision into a system that could function commercially without losing its personality. The site had to showcase photography, support product sales and create room for editorial content, all while remaining calm and easy to navigate.
Because Caroline was closely involved in the creative process, the work also needed to allow exploration and iteration before committing to a final direction.
The approach
We developed the visual and digital direction collaboratively, exploring typography, logo ideas, content hierarchy and different ways the work could be presented. Once the direction was clear, we structured the site around three connected experiences: portfolio, commerce and writing.
Product pages and purchase journeys were designed to support sales without making the site feel transactional, while the portfolio and editorial areas preserved the more personal character of Caroline's work.
The outcome
Caroline's portfolio, products and writing now sit in one platform with its own typography and visual system. The process also settled how her work should be presented online.

The decision
